Braided Up-do

I thought I would share with you the braided up do style I wore to the wedding a couple of weeks ago. I really liked the style, wish my brain told my face to show this in this picture...!

So I washed and dried my hair upside down in the morning then put in my sleep in rollers in for the rest of the day until I was ready to drive over to Caras...

A great look for driving! This was the first time I had really used these rollers and although I didn't sleep in them they gave me great volume
My fringe looks like the little mermaids! So then, as I'm not clever enough to do it myself, Cara french plaited my hair low around the bottom of my head.
We messed it up a bit, loosening it and backcombing. From using the rollers my hair already had more volume than normal. I didn't use any hair spray as I didn't want it too neat.
I tied it with a thin band and put a couple of kirby grips in the bottom of the plait just for extra security! Then twist, twist, twist, twist until it rolls round in to a bun.

Then I pushed a spin pin in from the top, and one from the side. If anyone hasn't yet discovered spin pins, do it now! Two of these bad boys held my hair in until the next morning! Even Buzz Feed raved about them!
So ta-da ready to go!

Next morning the plait had stayed in so well, and cos I'm such a classy bird like, I swapped the bun for a ponytail and had the tie by wrapping my hair around it. 2 do's in 1...kinda!

Easy and effective! What do you reckon?!

Cosmopolitan #fashfest

On Thursday evening we went up to London to attend the Cosmopolitan Fashion Festival at the Battersea Evolution Center which was lots of fun...
We were given our first drink and went through in to the reception hall where there were complimentary treatments available including manicures by Barry M, hair styling from Fudge and make overs from Urban Decay. Unfortunately I took too long sticking my eyelashes on and we missed all that...good one Harriet, high five to me!

We then went though to the main hall and took our seats for the fashion show hosted by Laura Whitmore!

Here are all the models showing off a checked collection.
All the clothes featured are from high street stores and are current collection. The stores shown included Topshop, Miss Selfridge, River Island, ASOS, Primark and Boohoo.
The were shown in trend collections rather than shop collections so you had to really pay attention as the models came out!

A little of the animal prints collection.
Other trend collections shown were...
Military
Metallic
Monochrome
Dark Autumn Florals
Pastels

Good bye models...
I thought, as it was a high street show the models would be a bit more 'normal women' types, however they were all very tall and skinny and beautiful!

Once the fashion show was done we went back out and tucked in to some booze!

I'm not normally that into Baileys, but this tiny cocktail was delicious! The Princess and The Pirate is Baileys mixed with Captain Morgan rum with a little squirt of cream on the top...and I had 4!
We, of course, had cosmopolitans too!
Oh and maybe some wine and Baileys at the same time...oh dear!
Everyone was also given a goody bag which you can see here in Emmas hand as she drunkenly walks in to our hotel wall, but I'll go in to the contents of that in another post as I'm rambling through pictures...!
All in all it was a really fun night and I really hope they do it again next year

Mr & Mrs Elliott

Yesterday saw the my friend Paula get married...finally!
The Wedding was held at Barnet Hill in Surrey which is a beautiful old Queen Anne building with amazing gardens and rooms of 'rich mahogany' Ron Burgundy style! The drinks were reasonably prices and the food was great! She even had a sweet cart to help yourself from...and we did...4 or 5 times! Flying saucers and actual Cadbury buttons though, who could resist!?

She was the least ladylike bride, but she looked beautiful and spent the whole day grinning from ear to ear having the time of her life and that's what matters!

I love weddings and it's so nice to be a guest for once, rather than the manager! It was so lovely to see Paula surrounded be all the people she loves, thank you for letting us be a part of it.

Woman Crush Wednesday - Hilary Duff

I have been a fan of Hilary Duff for many a year. Ever since she rocked my Disney TV afternoons as Lizzie Mcguire and has since developed in to a beautiful lady...

She started young and adorbs alongside Casper the friendly ghost

In Lizzie Mcguire world she had time to make her hair look as awesome as this before school even started!

She's not shy of a bold lip colour

She looks great in hats

Beautiful blonde or brunette

Her perfect teeth

She co-created this handsome little person

She is a queen of casual

This guy loves her too!!

Now, let's all take 3 minutes out of our day to watch this beautiful lady roll around on the beach with a beautiful man while singing a beautiful song

What's In My Bag...

Recently I've seen quite a few 'whats in my Bag' posts and quite frankly, if I have read yours...you're a liar!! No one's bag is ever that neat and tidy and has all their best products in, so today I am offering a brutally honest post-

The genuine contents of my bag!!

I don't know where to start...let's pick out a few things left to right. A black vest top, yes a whole other top and I don't even know why. An empty bottle of Diet Coke I was meant to Share with Jade, spoiler alert, I didn't! Old theatre tickets from when we went to see Avenue Q a couple of weeks ago. Some spare socks; sometimes I don't wear socks then will need them for riding else I can't get my boots off! My Cor Balmy in Jam Jar.

Yes that is a My Little Pony. My trusty Aviator RayBans are always in my bag. Some Neurofen and some other kind of pain killers; I suffer from chronic daily headache, it's a real thing and it's just delightful! My Pauls Boutique purse that I don't like any more but haven't found a replacement that I like enough to buy yet. A couple of loom band bracelets. A couple of hair bands. The belt from the playsuit I wore to polo.

That's a lot of unused Tesco vouchers! My emergency sunglasses I've accidently bought in from the car. Really, really good waterproof mascara. A mini Molton Brown hand cream for after doing the horses smells lovely and is really good. Mini Hello Kitty tissues. A Reveal magazine it's my favourite one because it has fashion, gossip and real life. A load of recipts! And some Cola Maoams...cos, sweets!

And there we have it. An honest accurate account of what's in my bag which is basically make up, toys and rubbish! So come on guys, be truthful about what's in your bag!

Hello Lindt!!

So this week I have been happily stuffing my chubby little face with the new lindt range I was sent...mmmm chocolate...it didn't last long. Oops!

Why yes, they do look delicious!
Salted Caramel is a perfect mixture of saltiness and carameliness, I think it's up there as my second favourite. Firm first was Caramel Brownie, sorry to make you drool..but this is amazing! Try it, and try it now!

Strawberry Cheesecake was very sweet, and quite sickly. While still jolly tasty, I could only eat it a bit at a time but if you're the kind of person that loves the fake 'strawberry' taste then this is right up your street!
Crunchy Nougat had just the right amount of tiny pieces in, for someone who generally isn't keen on nougat this was perfect for me!

Mmmm Cookies and Cream! Again, this was devine! Perfect tiny bits of cookie to add texture to the creamy filling.

The Hello Lindt range is currently on offer at Tesco, try not to eat it in the queue!!

So, anyway, I am now firmly on a diet after over indulgent summer holidays! Just dont think I'll be able to stay away from the chocolate...
